Great resource
I would encourage Melb Uni to put all public lectures on this site, to cater for people unable to make it to the presentations.

Islam Today
According to Professor Saeeds figures of around 300,000 Muslims in 2001
and probably 500,000 in 2006, then we would assume that the Muslim
population of Australia is doubling every 6 years, and at that rate in
30 years time there should be around 19,200,000. As many commentators
put the projected population of Australia at that time to be around
30,000,000, then at some time it would be good to have Professor Saeed
back to ascertain his thoughts of how Australian society will function
with Islam as the dominant culture. Best regards, David Chambers MAESF,
MAISF. IMF.[London]
Crunching numbers as if they were racist diatribe.
First, the idea that they are doubling every six years is an approximation. Second, how is that you assume they will double every six years without external factors intervening. The notion they will increase at such a scientific rate can only be the product of xenophobic mind. All things considered, before we entertain such elaborate hypotheses should we not see how Muslim numbers have increased or decreased in countries where they have been for over 30 years. Like England, France etc.
But all things considered, if there is a country that has 30,000,000 Muslims do you honestly think that country will still be posing the same xenophobic questions of what to do with a sizable 'minority' of 30,000,000. I find racist delusions hilarious.
