"When I came to this topic of genetic testing in children, there had been much written by lawyers and ethicists, clinicians and counsesllors... I wanted to know whether young people actually experienced those impacts themselves and how they felt about genetic tests that they had had." - Dr Rony Duncan

Dr Rony Duncan

Dr Rony Duncan works in the field of Medial Ethics. She uses empirical evidence to add to bioethical debates that arise as a consequence of advances in science. Rony works at the Centre for Adolescent Health at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.

In 2006, Rony received a Young Tall Poppy Award for her achievements as a young scientist. In 2007 she was the recipient of an NHMRC Public Health Training Fellowship, which will allow her to pursue her research interest at the intersection of ethics and adolescent health.

Rony has a regular position on 3 Triple R Radio’s medical chat show as an ethics commentator. She also sits on two ethics committees: the Clinical Ethics Advisory Group at the Royal Women’s Hospital and the Melbourne IVF Clinical Review Committee.
