Shane Huntington

Dr Shane Huntington is our host for episodes on topics in the Sciences, Health Sciences, and Engineering.

Shane is the Principal Strategy Adviser to Professor James Angus, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. Previously he was Principal Strategy Adviser to the Vice-Chancellor of The University of Melbourne, Prof. Glyn Davis.  He also holds an adjunct research position within the School of Physics at the University of Melbourne. 

Shane is passionate about helping the public gain a deeper appreciation of the sciences. He has been hosting the 3RRR Science radio program for 19 years.

He is a Founder and Director of The Innovation Group Pty Ltd,  a scientific equipment supplier and event coordinator that represents six international companies in Australia and New Zealand.

Shane has a PhD in Physics, with a specialty in Photonics and Imaging and has published more than 60 refereed journal papers. During his 10 years as a researcher he acquired more than $6M in competitive grants.
